More of Spence

Spence was born in the middle of the week and we were not sure of his birth day until the week before so we did things a little different with him.  Instead of having everyone at the hospital when he was born we told everyone to come the weekend after his birth when we were sure he would have already arrived.  He did have some visitors at the hospital which we were so thankful for, but most came that weekend.  I loved it this way!  We had just enough visitors at the hospital to make me feel loved and not overwhelmed.  This way when the family was visiting I was home and slightly more conscious.  We also loved having a little time to spend with Spence and bond with him as well.

Mimi and Papaw were ready to meet Spence!
Aunt Amanda
and Aunt Molls!

 Finally getting to hold him!

Dr. Reeves delivered Spence as well!  We feel like she one of our friends now after spending so much time with her over the past two years.

Nana stayed at our house with Brant until Spence arrived then she brought him up to meet his brother
Nana and Spence

Dr. Byrd and his wife Mary from First Ridgeland
My 3 boys!!

Sweet Spence!
Brant was sweet!!  I thought he might be scared because of the cords and IV but definitely was not!
Spence did not cry very much AT ALL!  The nurse even commented that he did not cry for shots or his little operation.  We knew our prayers had been answered!  He was very laid back and so sweet!
Of course napping with daddy
Victoria and John daddy's coworker's came to visit
Our sweet friends the Miller's
I had friends tell me I would be so ready to leave the hospital this time around, and they were right!  I cried to stay an extra day with Brant, but this time I was ready to get home.

We did experience hungry Spence on the ride home.  So we had to stop and feed the baby!

Big brother!

I was so worried about how Brant would do with his transition to big brother.  I am just blown away with how well he has done!  People had told me that he would just know that Spence belonged to us, and he really did!  He loved him immediately!  We have been around other babies and as long as I was not holding them he didn't pay them much attention, but he was totally different with Spence!  Every single morning he gets up looking for Spence.  If we are in a group he is constantly pointing at Spence to be sure everyone sees him!  He loves to kiss and hug him (we spend a lot of time protecting Spence from so much love).  As far as being jealous I notice that he occasionally is in need of a little extra attention.  The first few days he started calling Ike "mama", and this about broke my heart.  Mommy guilt doubles as well.  Ike and I are so proud of how well our big boy has done in his new big brother role!

So helpful!
Just had to get in the bed with him!
I think the love is mutual!
Wow...we are soo blessed!

Brant at 15 months

I wrote this 15 months post RIGHT before having Spence and I am so glad I did that! I am just now getting around to posting it though!  Brant turned 15 months June 22
- You are so observant. While you were napping one day we tried out a few colors in the foyer to decided what to use.  You woke up and went straight to those spots and started pointing and grunting, like what are those??  I also went to get my hair cut (I did get several inches cut off), but I didn't expect you to notice but you did!  I picked you up from aunt Molls and you immediately started looking at my hair and pulling at it like what happened?  You definitely got this from your daddy!
-This month you had your first (of many according to Ike, his way of calming me???) bloody nose.  You were running through the living room and totally face planted!  I was so thankful you didn't hit anything like the fireplace or toy box.  I relived the event a dozen times in my head, and then I would have to go to your room and check on you I would freak myself out.
-You are not interested in the TV.  It is rarely ever on when you are awake but occasionally I will turn it on in the mornings while I'm finishing up getting ready...no interest or no more than oh I would say 3 minutes which is totally fine.  However, your Aunt Amanda and Uncle Jason gave you a DVD player for riding.  It is in the truck because you are rarely in the except to school and home which is maybe 5 minutes.  Now every morning you point to the seat in front and grunt as if to say what's the deal?  I want to watch my show.
-You are obsessed with being on our bed.
-Starting to try and copy things we do.

You love the water and you are totally fearless!
This was a super fun month!

Spence is here!

I can not believe I am just now blogging!  Two babies has rocked our world!
BUT Spencer Allen did make his appearance and we are all 3 eat up with him!
We had a scheduled c-section June 25 bright and early!  This c-section was not quite as smooth as the first time.  The anesthesiologist had a really hard time getting the epidural in so by the end I was sobbing scared to death and after Spence was here I was itching and the meds they gave me knocked out the pain meds...so needless to say a little screaming happened and I became "that girl".  But ohhh how worth it, it was for this precious little man!!
Here we are leaving for the hospital and then waiting to be rolled back!  We were so excited to be meeting Spence!
These two...they really are the very best!  I'm so thankful they were there with us!

Spencer Allen was finally here!  And I was right he was a big boy!!

Spence,
You are such a wonderful addition to our family.  Our prayers for a laid back baby were definitely answered. You have had such a sweet personality from day one!  We know that the Lord has such great things in store for you.  We are so blessed.  The Lord knew we needed you for so many reasons.  I feel humbled that the Lord has allowed us to be your parents.  We love you so much sweet boy!
