Brant update

This guy is a mess!  Here he is eating his favorite honey buns (or donuts).  I don't know if it is a phase or what but he hardly ever eats at night! He really only wants to eat sweets! The doctor ask at his two year appointment, "Does he eats some fruits and veggies?"  NOPE.  She says keep trying so I will....

 He loves his Paw.

 This is the only half decent picture of him from picture day.  We are going through another phase.  We had a few weeks of really really good. And now he seems so tired and fussy in the afternoons.  Maybe he is growing.

 It melts my heart how much he loves Kyle.  Like refuses to let us take him from him.  He says, "I got you." over and over to Kyle.

 He loves looking at books.

 And as always watching movies and eating popcorn with Daddy!

Things from this month:

• Brant is such a fun little boy!  He loves wrestling with daddy and Spence (who is not a fan yet). 
• Playing with cars and mega blocks.  He is definitely into all things boy!  
• He weighed 30 lbs at his 2 year appointment.  She also said he had shot up in height.  One time she mentioned he was a little short, but now he is in the 65th percentile!  Maybe that is why he is so tired!  
• He's started coming in our room to wake us up in the mornings early.  One time this week it was 3:45 am.  Any suggestions on how to keep a toddler in bed??  He can open the door so that does not work.
• He has also started just busting out crying if we say no or discipline him in any way.  Like we are eating out and we whisper, "Brant do not throw food."  And he starts screaming crying. UH.  What to do?
• He's so sweet.  He loves on all three of us, and is ALWAYS looking out for Spence. 
• Talking so much!
• He has started cheering for mommy and daddy if we go potty.  So maybe we are close...

Brant update

Then Mid May it was like a switch went off!  I felt like he grew up over night.  He is talking like crazy which I think helped with all the fits and whining.  It has seriously been like an explosion of speech.  We are loving it!

He absolutely loves to be outside.  He likes his pool and he LOVES his sandbox! 

He's started to mock us which is just funny!  

He loves winding down at the end of the day with popcorn and a movie with his daddy.  

He would eat nothing but sugar if I would let him!

Brant is our independent child there is no doubt about that.  He will play for hours by himself and is very organized and detailed.  He loves unpacking and organizing the groceries...  Always such a great helper.  He even helped unload the dishwasher this weekend.  He is always so proud of himself.  His note from school always says such a good helper.

He's a great big brother...

Ha!  He really is!  He loves Spence and is always concerned about him.  Now he also loves to boss him around and lay on him too (which Spence absolutely hates).

I love every age and stage but right now this maybe my favorite.  He is so much fun!

Brant update

I feel like April/early May was right before Brant had a major breakthrough.  But April/early May looked a lot like this….

It of course had lots of good times too...

Brant 22 and 23 months

Brant is such a funny little guy!  He has really seemed to grow up in the last few months.  He definitely understands 98% of what we are saying.  He is pretty good at following commands.  Brant is really such a sweet, good hearted, well behaved child.  Our ONLY issue with him is whining.  Ike and I were just discussing how he has never really gotten into anything that he is not suppose to.  He usually complies when we say no to something (it may be accompanied with a little whining sometimes). 

He loves to swing at the park!  If the swings are full he will go back and forth until someone gives one up for him!   

Daddy took him to the grocery store and let him ride in the  germ filed car!  He loved it!

He is NOT into pictures and refuses to look usually!!!  ALMOST ALL of my childhood pictures I look perturbed to have to take a picture.  My payback I guess.   

The best I could get...

The paci...  Oh I thought we were over the paci.  Some where in the last two months it has become an issue.  He was taking it only at bed time, but now he will go in his room and get it out of the bed.  I'm not sure what is going on...  But 2 is quickly approaching and I'm hoping to totally get rid of it.  He knows it's for bedtime though.  If you say are you ready for night night he will throw it down.  This particular paci is Spence's.  He takes what he can get.

Aunt Mols got him a Gigi's cupcake!  The pictures speak for themselves of how much he loved it!

Brant 21 months

Brant at 21 months...

Gosh, time seems to be just flying by.  Brant is talking so much more lately.  He keeps us laughing.  His favorite thing in the world to say is “no.”  And the way he says it is so matter of fact and of course, no can also mean yes from time to time.  At Christmas, Brant was opening all the presents and oooing and awing when he gets to a box full of clothes…  He opens the box looks at it and says nooo (shaking his head) and closes the box back.  We all died laughing!  The child is certainly not lacking in personality.  If he gets you to laugh he will continue to do the same thing over and over.  They always have a funny story for us when we pick him up.  

You would think Brant is not paying any attention to Spence, but he is!  If we are doing something that Spence is usually involved in like taking a bath or riding in the car that is the first Brant ask, “Spenth?”  with his little hands in the air questioning.  There have been a few times lately that Ike or I have gone in and Spence has a random toy that we know Brant had to bring him.  It really is so sweet.  One day he even had “Mater”, now that is love because that is Brant’s favorite.

Brant is following commands very well.  He loves for you to give him something and say go throw this away.  He also LOVES to help put the clothes in the dryer.  He stands there and I hand him items to put in.  The other day he wanted the deodorant so I handed it to him he took the top off and started attempting to put it under his arm.  He is definitely watching us, I was shocked!!!   We are working on the whining, we are asking him to use his words (Thanks, Jenifer for that one!).  Now he says and signs please most of the time when he wants something or I will say show mommy what you need and he will take my hand and lead me to it. 

He is telling us when he is shew wee.  He will pull on his diaper and tell us.  When you are change him he makes a sour face and says nasty.  He also gets that something is hot.  So if we give him something he will put his hand over it feel if it if hot and usually ask if it is ok.  He has started doing this with bath water.  I apparently got it too warm at some point because every night I have assure him it is cool.

The kid is a picky picky eater!  He will not eat anything he is not interested in, and don’t think you can sneak it in.  Like he loves yogurt so I try to sneak in fruit, he eats the yogurt and spits out the fruit!  He is a sweets person for sure…bring on the cake! 

He loves the movie “Cars”, especially Mater.  He has these little Maters that he has started carrying everywhere. 

Brant is such a sweet sweet boy!  We pray that he will use all of the personality and determination in him to serve the Lord.  We are so thankful the Lord entrusted us with such a sweet, funny little guy!!

This is the day that he wanted what Spence was having for lunch.

Not a care in the world...sitting out the tornado warnings in the hall.

We are definitely in a "mommy phase"

 And lastly riding to school he found a paci...He hides these things and occasionally comes up with one.  But most of all notice the Maters....

Brant 19 and 20 months

It's hard to keep up these days!  So here is a little up date on Brant...

-full of energy

-still loves lining up his toys

-started rolling cars and crashing them into each other

-loves being outside

-starting to tell us when he has gone poo poo

-got tubes and is starting to say a lot of new words

-loves his barn and animals

-favorite movie is Cars

-loves Mickey Mouse and Veggie tales

-loves running

-loves music and dancing

-sleeping great since the tubes

-loves our bed and playing in the pillows

-favorite foods: PIZZA, yogurt, peanut butter, any kind of dip- ranch, hummus, ketchup, etc., bread of any kind

20 Months

 

You love getting in the baby things....

Brant Man,

 

You are a ball of energy.  Daddy and I can hardly keep up, but are a ton of fun.  We say you are our little entertainer.  You have the sweetest heart.  You are very concerned about others, constantly checking on Spence.  You give the best hugs and kisses.  You have started saying mmmmm and kissing us on the cheek, and will blow us kisses too.   We love so much big boy!!
