Spence Lately

-Spence is sooo strong willed.  I'm not sure if it just the age or what?  I slightly remember Brant being this way at this age.  I think he is just figuring out he has options.  In the afternoons he does not want me to take off his jacket, shirt, pants, or shoes until he is ready.  Definitely do not take his plate until he says done.

-Eating:  He is the slowest eater you have ever seen!  The boy loves to eat.  He is not very picky so far I know he doesn't like grapefruit.  He loves meat in any form, pizza, fruit, cookies, LOVES candy corn just like Brant and fruit snacks!  He will go get a snack and sit down so I can open it for him.

-Sleeping:  I really am so thankful for his sleeping routine.  He goes down easy and I rarely like almost never have to get up with him.  He sleeps so soundly.  Even in the mornings when he does wake up he doesn't cry just waits for us to come get him.

-He has started throwing the paci in the bed and when we get out of the car I will say "No paci's", and he and Brant chunk them.

-Helps put on his pants, socks, and shoes

-He's very organized but in a different way than Brant.  It is so interesting.  He wants things in there place.  He likes to throw things away for us.

-Some of his favorites are his daddy (big time daddies boy), Brant and anything that Brant is interested in

-He loves for us to "get him" and being chased.

-He is the most ticklish thing I have ever seen.

-He is our little talker!  He is already attempting to say almost anything.  He has a ton of regular words, but his favorite is "no" mostly directed at Brant.  He hates for Brant boss him.

Spence's 1 year pictures and 12 month update

I just knew pictures with Spence would be easy.  He's always so happy go lucky!  Well except picture day of course.  Those teeth were really bothering him.  We still got several that I love.  You will notice there are none with Brant.  He was completely not in the mood. 

I love how the chair pictures turned out most of all!

Mr. Serious is below.  This really is a rare look for Spence.  He LOVES his daddy!

Goodness gracious, we love him!

HAPPY 12 MONTHS!! 

• Weight: 25lbs!  The doctor said he lost 3 lbs!  I'm not surprised he is so mobile now.
• Size: diaper-5 clothes- 18 month 
• two bottom teeth and I believe the top two are on their way too.
• Still a great sleeper for the most part
• Doing great with the cup and working on eating with a spoon.  If I dip it out and hand him the spoon he does perfect and hands it right back for more.
• Walking every where!  He's not 100% steady but he rarely crawls now.

• No change here....Food:  Loves to eat!  He eats any and everything. 
• Whole milk and we are having to give him some juice for constipation occasionally, but then he has diarrhea so we are trying to figure this one out.
• We are hoping he is not our biter.  We have noticed he appears to be trying to bite when he gets upset.  Hopefully that is just teething.  
• He is a determined little thing.  
• loves to be outside
• Wants anything Brant has and if we give Brant something and do not give him the same thing he will notice and get upset already!

Happy 11 months Spence!

HAPPY 11 MONTHS!! (May 25)

• Weight: We haven't weighed him in a while but I don't think it has changed much from 27 lbs
• Size: diaper-5 and an 18 month is most comfortable but you can do a 12 month
• Your two little bottom teeth have finally started peeking through
• great sleeper most of the time.  If he does wake up he does not even try to find the paci.  He just screams till I come in and give it to him then he is right back asleep.
• He can drink from his cup only now
• Taking several steps at time and can stand alone.

• No change here....Food:  Loves to eat!  He eats any and everything. 
• He is now taking whole milk.  He had a stomach bug and started refusing formula so I just decide to make the switch, and he has done really well.
• Spence is the boss around our house.  He's the happiest baby ever until...  And then he can out scream and fight us all.  He's SO stubborn determined!
• Loves:
• opening cabinets and drawers
• animal crackers
• veggie straws
• being held
• walking
• anything Brant has
• being naked
• water and he is fearless, he will stick his little face under and thinks it is the funniest thing ever
• for us to cheer for or laugh at him

 We say he's a man's man because he wants to hang out with the guys already.

I thought he was so cute in these little overalls!  I wanted to get a few 11 month pictures, but he was not having it.

 Oh the stomach bug, teething, and I think a slight ear infection struck poor Spencey all at once.  After that he entered the stage where he will not let us out of his sight without screaming.

I can't believe it is almost his 1st birthday.  I have said this a thousand times Spence was the perfect addition!  We are all 3 crazy about him.

Spence 10 months

• Weight: 27 lbs 
• Size: diaper-5 (same as Brant) and 12 month clothes
• Still No teeth!  Still no teeth!!!  Can you believe it?!
• After tubes he sleeps even better!  I think we are going to have to start making bedtime 7:30.  He takes a nap around 4 at school so he is not quite ready at 7.  If I wait till 7:30 he will go straight to sleep with no fight, and lately sleep through till 6-6:30.  He does better in the pack and play in a room alone than in his bed with Brant in the room.  I plan to try again with that this weekend.

• Crackers, fruit pouches
• Being outside
• Same-Dislikes: getting dressed and cleaning his face... those are really the only two things that upset him!
• He can drink from his cup pretty well.
• He is crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything!

• No change here....Food:  Loves to eat!  He eats any and everything.  His lack of teeth is not stopping this boy.
• He is taking only formula now.  He didn't miss a beat with the transition.  I'm sure it's age and teething but he started being a very distracted eater.  He is the same with the bottle, but I just decided formula was fine.  
• Spence's is still so sweet and happy.  He is determined!  If he sees something he wants he will do everything he can to get it.  I love seeing his little personality develop.  

He had to get tubes this month and was a champ.  He did not cry one single time!  Ike would want me to note that he wanted his daddy the whole time.  Where are the emoticons so I can make a frowning face!
