Brant update

This guy is a mess!  Here he is eating his favorite honey buns (or donuts).  I don't know if it is a phase or what but he hardly ever eats at night! He really only wants to eat sweets! The doctor ask at his two year appointment, "Does he eats some fruits and veggies?"  NOPE.  She says keep trying so I will....
 He loves his Paw.
This is the only half decent picture of him from picture day.  We are going through another phase.  We had a few weeks of really really good. And now he seems so tired and fussy in the afternoons.  Maybe he is growing.
It melts my heart how much he loves Kyle.  Like refuses to let us take him from him.  He says, "I got you." over and over to Kyle.
 He loves looking at books.
And as always watching movies and eating popcorn with Daddy!
Things from this month:

  • Brant is such a fun little boy!  He loves wrestling with daddy and Spence (who is not a fan yet).
  • Playing with cars and mega blocks.  He is definitely into all things boy!
  • He weighed 30 lbs at his 2 year appointment.  She also said he had shot up in height.  One time she mentioned he was a little short, but now he is in the 65th percentile!  Maybe that is why he is so tired!
  • He's started coming in our room to wake us up in the mornings early.  One time this week it was 3:45 am.  Any suggestions on how to keep a toddler in bed??  He can open the door so that does not work.
  • He has also started just busting out crying if we say no or discipline him in any way.  Like we are eating out and we whisper, "Brant do not throw food."  And he starts screaming crying. UH.  What to do?
  • He's so sweet.  He loves on all three of us, and is ALWAYS looking out for Spence.
  • Talking so much!
  • He has started cheering for mommy and daddy if we go potty.  So maybe we are close...

Trying out a new splash pad!

This Since we were off on Friday for the 4th and Aunt Lala (my sis) was here to help me....we decided to go enjoy one of the local splash pads!  It was loads of fun.
These two went down this slide at least 100 times!

We always love hanging out with these guys!  We can't wait to add Spence's BFF in November!
While the big boys really liked the splash pad, this little guy loved it!  I was blown away he just took off like he was as big as them. He loved this alligator.  He was getting up on it to sit even pushed off a big kid! 😁 This was the first day that I noticed he no longer crawls!

My top 5 things about the splash pad
1. Lots and lots of water spickets!
2. You can see the kids no matter where they are!
3. Popsicles
4. Chairs for mommy
5. And most of all...the naps that follow

Show and Tell: Beauty Routine- cheap and low maintenance

I am linking up with Momfessionals for beauty routines!
My beauty routine used to be much more involved, but at this stage of life it a matter of doing as much as I can as quick as I can.  Plus I have SUCH a hard time spending a lot of money on make-up.  Here is what I do on a typical day.  Of course I would take it up a notch for special occasions.
Here is the before
The first thing I do is use this moisturizer suggested by Dr. Oz. (ha).  I really love the way it makes my face feel and it's $5!
These are the everyday products. In no particular order.
1. Clinque blush
2. I LOVE the Almay eye liner and one coat mascara which requires several coats for my blond eye lashes,
3. I use Wet and Wild eyeshadow and I can't tell you how much I love it.  It is $2.99 and it is comparable to the Naked pallet.  Read a review here.
4. I use base and bronzer (time for some new) from Beauticontrol.
And here you have it.  Lip stick gets applied in the car on the way to work.

I also use this skin care from Beauticontrol at night.
That sums it up!  I'm cheap and low maintenance these days!

This is a good read for the low maintenance mommas!

Spence's 1 year pictures and 12 month update

I just knew pictures with Spence would be easy.  He's always so happy go lucky!  Well except picture day of course.  Those teeth were really bothering him.  We still got several that I love.  You will notice there are none with Brant.  He was completely not in the mood.
I love how the chair pictures turned out most of all!

Mr. Serious is below.  This really is a rare look for Spence.  He LOVES his daddy!

Goodness gracious, we love him!

HAPPY 12 MONTHS!!
  • Weight: 25lbs!  The doctor said he lost 3 lbs!  I'm not surprised he is so mobile now.
  • Size: diaper-5 clothes- 18 month
  • two bottom teeth and I believe the top two are on their way too.
  • Still a great sleeper for the most part
  • Doing great with the cup and working on eating with a spoon.  If I dip it out and hand him the spoon he does perfect and hands it right back for more.
  • Walking every where!  He's not 100% steady but he rarely crawls now.
  • No change here....Food:  Loves to eat!  He eats any and everything.
  • Whole milk and we are having to give him some juice for constipation occasionally, but then he has diarrhea so we are trying to figure this one out.
  • We are hoping he is not our biter.  We have noticed he appears to be trying to bite when he gets upset.  Hopefully that is just teething.
  • He is a determined little thing.
  • loves to be outside
  • Wants anything Brant has and if we give Brant something and do not give him the same thing he will notice and get upset already!

Friday Favorites!

1. Busy Books!
My sis got Brant one of these as a happy for Spence's birthday ha!  I can't tell you how much he loves it!  He has spent hours playing with it this week!  She got it for our vacation and I think it will be perfect and plan to get a few more before then!

2. My favorite sippy cups

I ask for these for the boys for two reasons.  One it has an arctic wrap to keep drinks cold longer, and I am always so paranoid that their milk is getting hot. Two.  The spout requires that they drink more like a real cup.  I think we need to start that transition with Brant soon.

This has been my favorite transition cup.  Spence took right to this cup and was bottle free within a few days.  No more bottles at our house!
3. Melissa and Doug sprinkler!  and this sun hat!
Aunt Rose and Uncle Chris gave this to Spence for his birthday.  He loves it.

4. The new swing set
Sunday before Spence's birthday I got a phone call from my sister to go pick up Spence's birthday present.  Happy Birthday Spence from Paw, Meme, Aunt Manda, Unk, and Kyle!
They love it and I surely love it!

5. This big guy

He's walking
eating with a spoon
and climbing on everything!

6. That I survived a check up with both Two healthy boys!
It wore them out too.

7. These chubby legs and those precious shoes!

8. These two are always on the favorite list!

Spence's FIRST birthday party!

We were extremely blessed that for both of the first birthday's for the boys...Ms. Susie (Ike's mom) has ask me for my idea on the theme and I have pinned some of my ideas on pinterest, and she used that and ran with it.  I am one of the least creative people in this world.  She is one of the most creative people in this world so it works out great. I always have a vision, but I could never pull it together like she does.  I knew I wanted Spence's party to be bold primary colors, so when I came across the planes, trains, automobiles theme I was sold.  Ms. Susie pulled it all together for us, and it turned out perfect!

We always want the 1st party to be close to our family.  Ms. Susie rented a huge room and playground at the community YMCA.  It turned out to be the absolute best location!  It was big and roomy
Mom and dad with the birthday boy!
Nana and granddady
Meme and Paw

Aunt Mary and Uncle Hank came down for the party!
Dalton and Preston

I did not do a big cake this time.  We never even cut Brant's because the cupcakes where sooo good!  So we did cupcakes and 2 SMASH cakes for Spence!

Stop light cupcakes

More party pictures!  The YMCA has all these mats for working out that they let us use.  They loved playing on those.
Brant taking a break for a cupcake.
Spence was so happy to see Libby at his party!
But Brant was equally excited to see Taylor Grace!
Love these two sweet girls!
Meme, Papaw and ALL their grands!
Nana and Granddaddy and the boys!

I think Spence's first birthday was such a huge success.  I am so thankful for everyone that came to help us celebrate out sweet little blessing!

My oh my how time flies.  You are by far the happiest baby I have ever seen.  You laugh and smile all the time.  You can never know the joy you have brought into our lives.  It’s so neat when God surprises you with something you didn’t even know you needed.  That is definitely you.  Our family needed you.  It’s amazing how different and perfect you and Brant are for us.  I know that the Lord has amazing things for you, and I pray daily that you will love Him above all else.   Spencey Whincy, we love you so very much.   Happy birthday baby boy!
