Christmas holidays!

We had a great Christmas week. It kicked off Monday, Mike and Emily (one of my roomies), came and spent the night with us. It was alot of fun!! I cooked dinner and we played games. It is always so good to see them and spend time with them. We seem to be in the same place right now with alot of things so it was nice to get to talk. I did not get one single picture of their visit, so unlike me!!! Then on Tuesday Rose and Chris came into town and Ike and I went to stay with them at the Andrew's most of the week. We are so blessed with 2 great families! We had a great Christmas with both! The pictures are from Christmas Eve with celebrated with both families.

Buster's Christmas presents

We gave Buster his Christmas presents alittle early this year because he spent the holidays at his Mamaw and Papaw Richardson's house. Mom and Dad were not at home since his auntie Rose and Uncle Chris were in town. So he got a santa suit, a rather large Raw hide bone, and lots of treats. He loves these bones and when we saw this we thought it was perfect! We were not sure if he would chew on it but he definately has been working hard on it! He is to much fun!

The Best Husband!

Ike is so great! I wanted us to take a christmas picture and since we were all dressed up for his christmas program I thought that was the perfect time....which means he dedicated MUCH time to this process. The poor guy! I keep saying just one more...he said, "you say that everytime" :) One time while I was setting the timer I accidently took a picture instead and I caught this face on Ike...
Doesn't he look excited! :) We FINALLY got one I thought was okkkk :)

Buster drama!

So....Our yard is an acre and most of that is the backyard. So we always let Buster out the back and when he is done he comes back to the door. We don't have a fence but for the past 2 years he has taken care of business and came right back. So Tuesday night before Thanksgiving I let Buster out as usually and waited for him to come back...He was out MAYBE 5 minutes so i started calling him and he came running and crying and ran straight to his bed like he was in trouble. When I got to him, he was sticky and stinky so I put him in the bathtub. That is when I noticed he was bleeding. Another dog had attacked him. Ike was at choir and I was here alone... I was freaking out!!! He cried if I even touched him (this went on for days). I had found one hole on his side, when Ike got here he found another. We had to wait till morning to take him to the vet...let's just say I did not sleep at all! He was very bruised and sore. The picture below is today about a week later it is the two holes and they look so much better.... The thing is we have no idea what dog did this!

Thanksgiving

Ike and I had a great thanksgiving. We went to Carthage for lunch with Ms. Susie's side of the family. As usually it was alot of fun visiting and the food was great. Ike was super excited his Memaw made homemade carmel cake...his favorite. He has said several times I need to learn to make it.....I made carmel icing ONE TIME for a bake sale and it was ridiculously difficult so hopefully Memaw will be around for a long time to make it for Ike! After we left there we went to my aunt's house. My family makes a day of the holiday so even though they had eaten lunch no one had left yet. They also love to bring out the karoke machine at family gatherings (and the karoke machine has grown over the years, it is now more like a sound system than a karoke machine...just so you can visualize this thing)...and until Ike joined the family this was fine...none of us can really sing, but we will sing our hearts out like we can. But poor Ike, he can sing...which is a problem...see when we sing and it stinks it is ok no one really knows or cares, Ike on the other hand practices a song at least 95 times before singing it in public. He gets alittle stressed when they bring out the karoke because they immediately start pressuring him. I try to defend him, but they are relentless! HAHA! He did end up singing one song for them. :)

Mississippi State vs Alabama

I grew in a house divided my mom is a huge Alabama fan and my dad is a huge State fan. This game always meant war at my house! When it was time for me to go to college and I chose State I had to win my mom over by reminding her that State is alittle closer to home, so she was all for it then. But she still remained loyal to her team. She will now cheer for State on any game EXCEPT the Alabama game. I did my best to convert her while I was in college always telling her what a great school it was and buying her State t-shirts etc... No luck! So Saturday was my mom's birthday and she was dead set that Alabama would not disappoint her on her BIRTHDAY! and she was right...they didn't...so Happy Birthday Mom! :( Glad for mom, sad for our Bulldogs!
Ike and I went over to Starkville on Saturday to tailgate and watch the game. We had a great time hanging out with friends even if the game was disappointing. Here are some pictures from the game...

Trip to Baltimore and D.C.

This has been our long awaited vacation. Ike has to turn in his vacations on January the first. This is actually a good thing for us because if we don't plan ahead we will end up just not doing anything. BUT it can be frustrating knowing that vacation is 10 months away! :) Needless to say, we have been looking forward to this! We really miss Rose (Ike's sister and one of my closest friends, how many people get there best friend as a sister in law). Our vacation started out in Baltimore with Rose and then we traveled down to D.C. to spend a few days with our family there. We had such a great time with family we wish you were all closer.
Us at the Papermoon for breakfastThen alittle disk golf (which I am terrible at)
The girls!

A first....

Friday night Ike and I went with his family to the New Hope Game. It was Mr. Ira's 70th birthday, and he wanted to watch New Hope play! He loves any and all sports! So on the way in I realized this was mine and Ike's first New Hope game together! AWWW!!! All those years of going to football games and being JUST friends!!! Then Saturday our first State game!! AWW!! I am a dork...but at least I know it! We had a great but BUSY weekend. Us with Sam and Candace!

Saturday nights lately...

We have started playing games alot on Saturday nights with the Jones'. Which usually leads to something like this.....This was Josh's way of "helping". If you know me at all or read this blog you know I am extremely competitive which occasionally leads to violence. My husband (or my sister when she is available) usually get injured during games. This particular night Ike was scratched due to being smarty while blocking my plays (he provokes me...he really does JOSH), so Josh brings this out to help Ike. Thanks Josh!

On a better note, I just think this picture is too sweet. Ike says he is looking forward to kids so he can watch Saturday morning cartoons again! This is Ike and Mackenzie enjoying Cinderella! :)

This night Ike and Mackenzie switched hair accessories!
Ok, so we, the Andrews family love Mackenzie, this includes Buster. This picture explains it all! He just sits and watches her the whole time she is there. She is not his biggest fan but I think she was getting used to him!

We love the Jones' and will miss them terribly...so got to make the most of the time left... then we have to make road trips!

Congratulations to the Wilson's!

Our great friends Connie and Derrick just added a new addition to their family. Baby Sam! He is so cute and sweet! We enjoyed meeting him!
Ike was being stingy with him!! :)

California!

My job has required alot of travel this year! Most of the places have been local stuff like Jackson and Meridian. However, a week ago I got to go to California for a week! My co-worker Molly and I both went. We stayed in a great hotel and the conference was not bad at all! The best part is my uncle, aunt, and 2 cousin live about 45 minutes away from the town the conference was in. I do not get to see them alot, in fact it had been about 6 or 7 years since I had seen my aunt and cousins. So I was very thankful for the trip! Molly and I were so thankful to them. They took us all over California. We went to Hollywood, Santa Monica, San Diego, Balboa Island at New Port beach. It was great!
SOO...Molly and I had a few adventures of our own too...BIG MISTAKE! We decided after a few days that we needed to find cheaper transportation so we took the city bus to the beach one afternoon! I am not sure what we were thinking! The bus is complicated you have to catch 2 buses to get to your final location. So we make it just fine to the 2nd stop but the bus only comes every 30 mins well apparently this bus was running late because I know we waited a good 45 minutes. There were 3 men and an Asian couple (that clearly did not speak English) at the bus stop. One man appeared to be homeless and 2 of the three men were obviously intoxicated. The homeless man was very concerned that I was getting burned, after about the 10th time he told me I needed lotion for my skin he comes over and fills my hand with BABY OIL(we think)! Molly and I were both like NO!!!!!! that just burns you (not to mention who knows what it is really)! At this point I just want the bus to come I am getting alittle nervous! The other intoxicated man says he lives at Newport beach and we should follow him, I am like ok sounds good and starting talking away to him! I was nervous remember, but I think my talking was making Molly nervous. Anyway he lead us to the beach thankfully and we parted ways! And I have rambled enough so I will just say the bus ride home was not comfortable and got just alittle crowded!!! oh fun times!

The trip would have been better if Ike could have gone! Next time this conference is in Denver so maybe he can go then I am crossing my fingers!!! :)
I will add more California pics soon!

Roommate reunion!

Ike and I both had a reunion with roommates in Columbia, SC over the Labor Day holiday. Ike went to visit his friend Tony. Ike and Tony were roommates when we lived in Augusta. I know Ike was glad to be able to visit with Tony and his family...I hate I missed it! Tony and his family were always so welcoming to us, letting us tag along with them! Great Family!

I myself had a rooommate reunion too. Me and 3 of the 4 girls I lived with in college met in Columbia for the weekend (We missed you Jen!...She is a missionary in Africa sooo she was unable to attend). BIG THANK YOU to Ike for driving us! We had such a great time catching up, and as usual God reminded me how blessed I am! These girls are each so precious to me!

Our little family

A few weeks ago Jenifer, Josh, and Mackenzie came over and ate dinner with us and we played cards which is always fun and interesting!! Jenifer took this picture of us...Jenifer takes great pictures and at first I loved it, but as time has gone on I have decided that it is time for me to hit the gym! I decided to share the picture anyway because it is our little family!! :)

Behind....

I have recently been informed that I am behind on blogging...(thanks Jenifer) I feel like life has been a bit of a whirlwind lately. My job has keep me out of town a good bit this summer which has been educational, but I do not like being away from my husband that much. Ike is doing great. He has been working out every morning before work which impresses his wife who refuses to get up with him...I don't do mornings. Honestly I thought it would last a week and die but nope...should have known he loves making me look bad :) He also started back to school yesterday but he would not let me take a first day picture I don't know why???! He is going to State to work on his MBA. So he is working full-time and going to school full-time, and dealing with me full time :) He is such a hard worker. This summer has had a few challenges and through it I have been reminded what a blessing Ike is, and we both have been reminded that God has given us an incredible family and such wonderful friends. Thank you all for loving us and praying for us!

So there are very few shows that Ike and I are serious watchers of...but some how this summer we have gotten hooked on Bones re-runs (can't wait for the new season) and most of all Big Brother. My mom has been a faithful watcher of all seasons, and I lived at home one year right before I got married and I watched some of that season but never anything like this!!!! Is any one else hooked????! We get excited about the show coming on, analyze it afterwards, and sometimes I yell at the house guest!! It is nuts, we are rooting for Jordan and Jeff. What an exciting life we lead! :)

Hope you are all doing well...until next time

The Ugly Truth....

Ok so I am sure alot of you have seen the previews for this movie. I have been counting down the days till it came out, so excited about it. My sweet, wonderful husband has been hearing about it for weeks! Yesterday Ike, being so awesome, tells me to go head and get tickets since it is the first night it is showing. Then we decide to invite Sam and his girlfriend Candace to go with us. On the way Ike says, "I wonder why it is rated R" I had overlooked that little fact but I was like probably just a language or something. Here I am thinking this movie is like the next "How to lose a guy in 10 days"....NOPE! The movie is funny....however the language is terrible!!!!!!!!! and they said things that were really vulgar! Needless to say we embarrassed to have ask Sam and Candace to see that...opps..... Anyway so if you have not seen it here is your warning! :)

Long time coming...

Ike and I got to go visit the Walker's in Fort Worth over the Memorial Day holiday! It was alot of fun! We shopped, played tennis, went swimming, visited the Botanical Gardens, and ate good food. We were even treated like VIP's at Joe T's for those of you who have never been there it is an outside place that people stand in line for hours sometimes to get in we pulled up it look like we would waiting a while but this lady came to the back of line ask us how many and said follow me and walked us right past this huge line AWESOME (and would have been worth the wait)!! Then we finally made it Billy Bob's the largest honky tonk in the world! We enjoyed dancing AND watching the other people there dance. Ike and I both like Texas! Thanks for having us Kyle and Lauren!

One Year!!! (WARNING...alittle sappy)

I did not get a chance to post this yet (we were on a trip, that post is coming)....Ike and I were married for a whole year on May 24! Where in the world has time gone, I can't believe it has been a year! I must say I absolutely love being married! Ike is the best husband a girl could ask for, he is such a sweet and loving husband! People told us that the first year is hard but we disagree. It was easier for us than engagement! Ike is my best friend and I am so lucky to be spending my life with him!

Disney Day 5

For this day I apologize to Jenifer and Josh! Ike and I had a crazy two weeks leading up to Disney World so we decided to just stay back at the resort Friday. We slept in and then laid at the pool all morning. It was nice to just lay we haven't done that in a while!!! Though I was sad to learn I missed Animal Kingdom! :( That afternoon we decided to take out the two seater bike (that actually have a name, and yes I forgot it). Those were fun although...even though the bike has two steering wheels only Ike has control. Fun! :) No really it was alot of fun!
That night we all headed out to Magic Kingdom for the parade and the fireworks! SO MUCH FUN! If you go to Disney, go to that! It was one of the best things! The parade was awesome all the Disney people and then the fireworks were amazing! The pictures do not do it justice! GO see for yourself if you have not already! Josh and Jenifer, we can not thank you enough for inviting us. We had such a wonderful time and are so glad to have made those memories with you guys. We really enjoyed spending time with Mackenzie too, she is precious....Aunt Bandy and Unk Ike love her! We love you guys too!

Disney Day 4

This day we went to Hollywood studios. We got see Playhouse Mickey live...I don't think any of us saw the show for watching Mackenzie...she absolutely loved it! It was really cute she danced and clapped the whole time! I think she was the perfect age to go! Rockin rollercoaster was next which we all loved. Sorry we didn't get to do it again...Ike got sick he would never admit it but I think Tower of Terror hurt his neck which always gives him a terrible headache! Next time? :) We all really loved the Beauty and the Beast Show! It was one of my favorites! The music and dancing all so great! Then the great movie ride...which was really neat going through all the old movies! I hate we had to leave this park early we missed alot and never did get our picture in front of the hat! :( Later that night Jenifer and Josh had a great idea and were all going to eat at Joe's crab shack. While Mackenzie is taking a bath she stands up and falls and hits her head in the tub. There was immediately a huge goose egg. We were all so worried. Josh tried to call a few people that may know what to do and with no luck he calls the resort and they send over a paramedic. He tells them it is their call...so of course you can't take chances so they head to the ER we all follow them to Celebration hospital...which no Mickie and Minnie were not there, you would think they would be right? Let's just say the ER took their time as usual....poor little Mackenzie 4 hours and 2 CAT scans later we are own our way home with a peace of mind that she is ok! Thank you, Jesus! On the way home we stop at McDonald's after passing the bungee swing from our senior trip....here is a little recap. For Senior trip we went to Orlando...Ike and few others bungee swing together. Then I begged Jenifer and Chris Wilkins to go with me...ok finally they agree...we get up there they strap us in and my fear kicks in I freak out and start crying they let me out...thank goodness! So although I really hated that Mackenzie got hurt and the ER was ewww frustrating...I was so thankful that we did not end up at Joe's which was right in front of the swing because I know I would have ended up on it! :)
