Friday Favorites

Here are just a few of my Friday Favorites this week!

Bath time!  Both of these guys love bath time and they play so well ..  What's not to love!

Chat books.  I am crazy about these books!  They are actually great pictures, super easy, cheap, and a great way to document our days.

Vacation count down

 Summer nights with friends.
This was Spence's first trip to the splash pad.  I think he's a fan.

And I equally love Nights at home with these guys.

Spence's birthday invitations that Nana made for his party!  I maybe an emotional wreck next week.

And I love that we will be celebrating Ike this weekend.  I ask what he would like and he said for us to not have any plans and for him to be able to just hang out with his family.  Ok! Done!

Summer catch up

Here is a quick recap of our summer so far..

In April we got a text from our renters that they would need to go ahead and move out.  I had a small panic attack because I knew that meant we had to one. pay the WHOLE mortgage on 2 houses and two. work and get the it either ready to sell or rent.  Ike and I spent a weekend making changes and working on getting it ready to put it on the market.  Over the 7 years of our marriage we have put some blood, sweat, and tears into this little house.  It will always be special to us.
We have stayed outside AS MUCH as possible!  Both boys love to be outside.  They love the little swimming pool Aunt Manda got them!  Brant is still a huge fan of the sand box too.  I have yet to let Spence try that.
We love to swing!
Everyone loves having supper outside especially me!

A trip to Lowe's of course is always in order.
Uncle Sam made a quick visit!
Four wheeler riding with Granddaddy.
A few play dates with Gray.
We always love for the Walkers' to come visit!

Ike and I had our 7 year anniversary!  We celebrated by visiting Baby Kyle (more on him to come).  I truly feel so lucky to get to do life with this guy!

and that's about it!

Mamaw and Papaw Crews

It's been so long since I posted.  Life has thrown us a few curve balls lately.
My grandmother has had cancer. The doctors decided Mid-April to put both her and my grandfather (her husband) on hospice.  We were aware they both had conditions that were ultimately terminal.  BUT we just KNEW they had at least a good year.  My dad called on Wednesday the next week and said that my mamaw didn’t look good, and maybe I should plan to come home.  By Friday of that week they had admitted her with a blocked intestine, and she was not strong enough for surgery.  I went home to stay the weekend at the hospital with her.  The doctor told my dad and his brothers and sisters they would be making some tough choices soon.  They put in some type of NG tube and said it could POSSIBLY remove the blockage (they did not act hopeful).  The first night she was in the hospital, my 9 month pregnant sister and I stayed with her.  My sister never took her eyes off her all night.  We just knew this was it.  By Sunday, She was up talking and demanding I bring my boys to see her.  It was crazy, and later that week she went home with no blockage.  She wasn’t 100%, but better.  Just a testimony to her strength and The Lord’s timing.  In the midst of all that my papaw realized she was not doing well.  I truly believe he was determined to go on before her and he did shortly after this.
May truly brought a whirlwind of emotions for our family.  My grandparents passed away within a week of each other.   I love these two so much.  I am thankful for the time I had with them and all the memories I will forever cherish.

The boys hang out with Meme and Paw at the hospital waiting to see Mamaw because she was insistent that I was to bring them up.

Brant update

I feel like April/early May was right before Brant had a major breakthrough.  But April/early May looked a lot like this….

It of course had lots of good times too...

Texas Trip

I really really wanted Ike to get a happy surprise for his birthday.  Ike sacrifices so much for our family.  So when I was thinking what would Ike want more than anything I decided it would probably be time away from us a guy's weekend.  So the Walker's and I planned for us to come out to Texas and Ike and Kyle could camp then hunt and fish some.  It was a great plan!  The boys were great traveling to there.  We did get detoured for a little bit because of a tornado making its way through.  I wish I had pictures of soaking wet Ike and Brant.  We hung out in Walmart and got the boys dry clothes till it passed.

These four played great together!  And the boys came back early they missed us so much.  Great daddies!!

 Toddler issues...

These two happy as can be

One of our MANY stops on the way home.....The boys were DONE with the car ride!

Spence 10 months

  • Weight: 27 lbs
  • Size: diaper-5 (same as Brant) and 12 month clothes
  • Still No teeth!  Still no teeth!!!  Can you believe it?!
  • After tubes he sleeps even better!  I think we are going to have to start making bedtime 7:30.  He takes a nap around 4 at school so he is not quite ready at 7.  If I wait till 7:30 he will go straight to sleep with no fight, and lately sleep through till 6-6:30.  He does better in the pack and play in a room alone than in his bed with Brant in the room.  I plan to try again with that this weekend.
  • LOVES :
    • Brant
    • Daddy
    • Standing up
    • Eating
    • Crackers, fruit pouches
    • Being outside
  • Same-Dislikes: getting dressed and cleaning his face... those are really the only two things that upset him!
  • He can drink from his cup pretty well.
  • He is crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything!
  • No change here....Food:  Loves to eat!  He eats any and everything.  His lack of teeth is not stopping this boy.
  • He is taking only formula now.  He didn't miss a beat with the transition.  I'm sure it's age and teething but he started being a very distracted eater.  He is the same with the bottle, but I just decided formula was fine.
  • Spence's is still so sweet and happy.  He is determined!  If he sees something he wants he will do everything he can to get it.  I love seeing his little personality develop.

He had to get tubes this month and was a champ.  He did not cry one single time!  Ike would want me to note that he wanted his daddy the whole time.  Where are the emoticons so I can make a frowning face!
